According to reports in The Sun on Sunday, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is considering making a £60m January bid for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves.
What’s the word, then?
Well, the 21-year-old has been a hugely impressive performer for the west Midlands outfit over the course of the last 12 months, and his displays clearly haven’t gone unnoticed by Guardiola if The Sun on Sunday is to be believed.
The Sun on Sunday says that the Spaniard is still looking for a new midfielder having lost out on Jorginho to Chelsea, and he may be ready to make a big-money £60m swoop for the highly-rated Neves.
The report adds that City had scouts in the Molineux crowd when the Portuguese scored one and assisted another in his side’s 2-2 draw with Everton, and as well as making an impact in the final third he is also able to play a defensive midfield role as well.
Should Wolves sell him?
The 21-year-old is clearly a big player for the club right now and can be in the future too, but if they receive a £60m offer from Man City it is one that they can’t afford to turn down.
A bid like that and the chance to play under Guardiola will certainly turn the player’s head, and it will undoubtedly affect his performances on the pitch for Nuno Santo’s men – something they can’t afford if they want to achieve their ambitious aims.

Wolves have the security they need given the player still has five years remaining on his contract, but £60m will allow them to not only replace Neves effectively, but also strengthen in at least one other position on the pitch as well.
