Tottenham Hotspur picked up what could prove to be a crucial point in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, and Spurs fans weren’t impressed with Eric Dier’s performance in the middle of the park.
The England international started alongside Mousa Dembele in central midfield, but it was his poor back-pass that saw Mo Salah gave the Reds the lead in just the third minute of a pulsating encounter.
The 24-year-old struggled in possession during the first-half but he did improve after the interval – like many of his teammates – while he dropped back into defence when Davinson Sanchez was replaced by Erik Lamela in the 71st minute.
Tottenham supporters were quick to have their say on the 24-year-old’s display via social media, and while one said “Eric Dier should not start against Arsenal”, another said he put in a “shocking performance today”.
