Rangers manager Philippe Clement had hoped to be backed by the Ibrox board during the last summer transfer window and the Gers faithful certainly saw a plethora of deals done with well known names leaving, and largely younger, but highly rated, unknowns arriving in their place.
It was clearly a move designed to create sell on fees to bolster the clubs’ finances when players had developed better and caught the eye, instead of seeing so many hit an age where the main option was to see them leave on a free at the end of their contracts.
It has been a disappointing start to the 2024/25 campaign for our Belgium gaffer so we will have to see if that plan bears fruition, as it more than makes sense on paper, but fans will be asking if it was too many youthful changes, far too quickly. In an online casino sense, players would not expect to be given 60 free spins no deposit and for all of them to come up as a winner, we will have to see if so many spins in our transfer business produce more winners than losers.

One of our heavily unknown signings last summer was Hamza Igamane. The eight capped Moroccan Under 23 international is very much one for the future and he joined us for an undisclosed fee from AS FAR with the 21 year old forward registering 13 goals in 45 games. His time with them saw him play his part in their Moroccan Throne Cup win (2020/21), Botola (league title) win in 2022/23, and they finished as runners up in both competitions in the 2023/24 campaign.
He also helped the Under 23 international side to their Africa Cup of Nations victory in 2023, so his stock is on the rise, but he is very much one for the future and Rangers fans fans have already seen him in action twice now with substitute appearances so far in September as he continues to adjust to life at the club.
His adjustment to life at Rangers is another 30 pound free no deposit gamble, as we all know some players hit the ground running in a new country, others take time and some despite their core talent just cannot adjust to a new division at all. We will have to see what the future holds.
With an understandably slow start to life at the club as he settles in, fellow Belgian gaffer, and current Zulte Waregem manager Sven Vandenbroeck, was the man who fast tracked Igamane into the AS FAR first team set up three years ago when he was in charge of the club, and the 44 year old feels that his compatriot Clement has pulled off a sweet bit of business here with reports speculation the transfer fee was in the region of £2 million only.
Vandenbroeck stated that with the interest that was being shown in the player, had we not moved for his services last summer, that we simply would not have been able to afford him in future windows given the clubs that were starting to pay closer attention to him – ergo, this could be a deal that suits us very handsomely in the near future on a financial front.
Although he did not name the clubs that had begun closely monitoring him, Vandenbroeck claimed a number of well known French Ligue 1 sides were interested prior to him agreeing a five year deal with us, and he fully expects their interest to continue now he steps up a level with us, and presumably gets a taste of European action.
He also believes that this will help the player gain further interest from English sides, and other major European divisions, as long as he can perform and develop as his potential suggests. He does however acknowledge that the language barrier could be the biggest test he faces in the English and European game, and he fully expects that English classes now feature highly in his new daily ritual.
With Clement already beginning to involve him now, that shows a level of trust despite his age and relative inexperience, so he could well be one to watch for fans as he takes the next steps in his career.
